Martha's work to date explores the domestic and gardening utensil and its effect on the user. Her work is made from a mixed media of paper porcelain, woven wire, carved wood and painted drift wood. It takes its influence from her rural background and the close associations of her ancestors to the seasons, the earth and food production.

"My garden is my utopia, my work reflects my connection to it. Each piece has its own unique character and significance addressing our own organic sense of rhythm, movement and form"

Martha graduated in 2007 and has exhibited extensively around Ireland and abroad. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and residencies. Her work has been purchased for permanent art collections in UCC and CIT.

Martha also held the position on board member for Cork Craft and Design, and Chair for the Society of Cork Potters for a number of years. She is currently a board member for the latter.

Martha accepts commissions and creates Unique Funeral Urns.
